Oasis

At-a-glance Inspo:

Turning a blank canvas into an urban oasis.

Overview:

What makes a house a home is not just about the physical house, but about how it’s integrated into its’ environment.

This project was a challenge: we were presented with a wooden box on a dirt field. But what we saw was a blank canvas…and who can resist that?

To reimagine this home, we took inspiration from its surroundings. With a little polishing, (okay, a lot of polishing. And some major renovation), it became what it should always have been: an urban oasis.

On the interior, a vibrant blue contrasts with a deep, grey exterior. Pops of color flow all the way out to the backyard space, sure to create lasting memories.

It all flows—the blue kitchen cabinets, the blue trim around the doors, and in the entry, it ties in with the tree mural on the rear perimeter wall. One detail we love is how the mural goes from the outside backyard “masonry wall” and spills over the outdoor concrete patio, flowing right into the garden. It makes for an exciting space that cools and calms.
